Jammu Tawi, November 1 (KNO): A high-level committee has yet to finalize its recommendations for the appointment of the chairman and members of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (H & UDD) said the panel led by High Court Judge Ali Muhammad Magrey and comprised of Administrative Secretary, H & UDD Dheeraj Gupta and Administrative Secretary for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Achal Sethi has yet to confirm his recommendations. for the appointment. “The panel has met 2-3 times after its constitution, but it has not finalized its recommendations to date,” they said.

The H & UDD started the process of constituting the RERA in February this year. To begin with, the department invited applications from those eligible / willing for selection for the post of president and members of RERA.

The president and members of the Authority are to be appointed by the government on the recommendation of a selection committee made up of the President of the High Court or his representative, the Secretary of the Housing Department and the Legal Secretary.

A person to be appointed chairman of the body must have adequate knowledge and professional experience of at least 20 years in urban development, housing, real estate development, infrastructure, economy and the persons to be appointed as members must have at least 15 years of professional experience in these fields.
