How to successfully start a real estate business

Carmicia Booth has expanded her agency to several cities, including Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte and a city in South Carolina.

GREENSBORO, NC – One of the top research in 2021 was how to start a business. So we spoke with a real estate agent about how she started her own business.

“A day in the life of a real estate career is unpredictable. No two days are the same in real estate, ”said Carmicia Booth, broker in charge of CKG Realty.

She has been in the real estate industry for 12 years and has owned her business for eight years. Now she wants to build a bridge to help future generations start a career in real estate.

She said these steps can help those interested in getting down the real estate path:

The first step: Find real estate schools

Third step: Take the required hours for the course and pass the in-class exam

Fourth step: Take the state exam

Fifth step: Find the company you want to join

“The beauty of having a real estate license is that there is no one size fits all,” Booth said. You can join a small business, you can join a larger business then after a while may consider starting your own business.

She said she was successful because she understood that real estate agents do more than just sell properties.

“If you’re just into real estate for the money, you’re not going to last,” Booth said. “The markets are always up and down. The markets are not the same by area. You will do more than sell for your customers. You are an ear for your customers when they tell you why they need a House.

Booth said real estate can last 12 hours a day, but the payoff is well worth it.

“There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that you have helped someone find a home, a roof over their head, a place of comfort, a place of peace,” Booth said. .

The key element that she has given to those looking to launch a career is longevity.

“It’s all about relationship building, this is how you build that solid foundation for your business,” Booth said. “This doesn’t just apply to real estate. I think it applies to almost any business where you want a great relationship if you want to have those clients for life.

There are many real estate agents in many different cities, but according to Booth, there is a difference between a good and a great agent.

“I think what separates a good agent from a great agent is really having a heart for it,” said Booth. These are days when you will be exhausted, and you have to reach that little place that many people don’t have in order to have the courage to continue. This little place grows over time and it grows out of love for what you do. This is what separates the good from the good.

Booth has expanded his agency to several cities, including Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte and a city in South Carolina. She has 10 agents on her team and her hope is to continue to develop her brand and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
