In an industry with more than 2 million active real estate dealers, according to the National Association of REALTORS, it can be difficult to stand out from your peers.
Hosting their official groundbreaking ceremony last week, you’d never know from the smiling faces of Michelle McKinney and Paige Brewer that they’re part of one of America’s most competitive industries.
Surrounded by colleagues from other agencies and supporting industries, the pair were welcomed into the community with fanfare as they officially cut the ribbon on NextHome At the Beach II in Palm Coast.
McKinney, owner/agent of the franchise, says that as a military wife, they moved around a lot and, returning to Palm Coast two years ago, she was thrilled to put down roots in a community she love since 2010.
“We’ve always wanted to go home, and that’s really exciting,” McKinney said. “Right now, Palm Coast is rising to fame. It’s a real hidden gem and the word is spreading and it’s booming right now.
Looking for the right agency to work with, she discovered Brewer, a landlord/broker in the NextHome family, and the couple hit it off. Deciding to open the location in his new hometown, McKinney said the warm reception from others in the real estate industry has been wonderful.
“That’s my view of real estate – we couldn’t function without each other,” McKinney said. “There is enough business for everyone and I can feel it here. I don’t feel the competition, I feel the love. There are many agents from other brokerages here (tonight) who come to support and congratulate us. They are my friends, my colleagues.
Brewer said she had high hopes for the Palm Coast location as the real estate market continues on its upward trajectory, and she said they would stay true to their core values.
“We hope to grow and build awareness of the NextHome brand, but more than anything, our brand is about keeping humans at the center of the transaction and realizing that it’s all about people,” she said.
Wishing his new colleagues well, Eddie Lang of Century 21 Sundance Realty said the shared support among real estate professionals is what really makes the community.
“I’m here to support Michelle McKinney in her new venture in her new office because that’s what real estate agents in this county do,” he said. “We’re all about the community – it’s not just about one of us, we all want the best for the community and show people around the world that Palm Coast is probably the best place to be. live.”
